Job Description

Job Purpose: No statutory Nursing Qualification required. The post holder must be of a caring nature and sympathetic to the needs of service users. The post holder must have the ability to work with colleagues from a variety of disciplines. The post holder carries out assigned tasks involving direct care in support of, and supervised by, a Registered Nurse.

Job Description:

1. Ensure the implementation of the Hospice Core Values and Mission in practice.

2. Demonstrate awareness of the importance of etiquette and good conduct within the Hospice environment.

3. Ensure an effective delivery of nursing care is provided to patients and that an acceptable standard of care is maintained.

4. Provide, through Hospice policies, a safe environment for the treatment of patients and protection of staff.

5. Participate in education and training programmes as required.

6. Participate in rotation and redeployment of staff as required.

7. Implement all policies, procedures and practices as introduced at Induction, Mandatory Training and throughout mentorship experience.

8.Assisting with washing , dressing, eating, using the toilet and general mobility.

9.Bed preparation, making beds and changing bed linen. Keeping the service user home tidy.

10.Assisting the service user to hospital appointment for treatment/examination.

11.Talking to service users and using ground breaking technique to reduce distress.

12.The nursing auxiliary will be working under the guidiance of the care at home registered manager a registered nurse.

13.Medication administration.

14.Support is delivered in peoples own homes.
