I am an enthusiastic, caring, energetic, competent,compassionate, committed to work, organized and experienced Registered Nurse with the passion to provide safe, high quality, and recovery-focused Nursing care that alleviates pain and sufferings, and promotes the health of patients that require emergency services in the hospital. I wrote IELTS on 24th of september,2022 with overall band score of 8.0( listening:8.5, Reading :7.5, Speaking:8.5, Writing:7.0) with the ability to write legibly and clearly. I have written and passed CBT and I have my decision letter to write OSCE.
I have taken the time to completely read the job description for the role of a Band 5-Staff Nurse in your reputable organization and I strongly believe I can quickly make positive contributions to the team and hospital at large.
I have worked in different health sectors such as adult nursing which includes Orthopedic ward ,emergency wards, pediatric ward, operating theatre where I scrubbed and circulated for different specialities such as obstetrics and gynaecology, general surgeries, urology, ophthalmic, paediatrics, plastic surgeries, ENT etc, and Medical and Surgical unit where my duties includes but not limited to the following;
• Managing care from admission to discharge, including patient assessments, care planning, health education and discharging support and provide comprehensive care to over 5 patients daily.
• Performing cannulation and venipuncture.
• Health educating patients and caregivers on proper wound management, discharge plan objectives, safe medication use and disease management.
• Collaborating with physicians and other healthcare members to develop and implement individualized care plans and documented all patient interactions and interventions.
• Advocating for patients by communicating care preferences to practitioners and supervising nurse, verifying interventions carried out, met treatment goals and identifying insurance coverage limitations.
• Organizing and managing care of patients undergoing various therapies and procedures.
• Implementing interventions including administration of medication via oral, intramuscular, subcutaneous and intravenous routes and monitored responses to address new concerns; catheter insertion, airway management, vital signs monitoring, phlebotomy.
• Collected blood, urine and other laboratory specimens and prepared for lab testing.
• Triaging of incoming patients based on level of injury or illness.
• Performing cardiopulmonary resuscitation.
• Immediately stabilizing incoming patients.
• Administered medication as prescribed.
• Assisting and performing tracheotomies and intubations.
• Giving patients stitches and sutures, cleaning wounds and caring for paracentesis drain

I possess specialist skills and knowledge to aid and maximize their recovery. Obtaining consent from patients who have the capacity has always been my first action before any procedure, I always embrace diversity from people of all works of life by respecting their values, dignity, maintaining confidentiality, safeguarding, respecting their privacy and decision, risk assessment and utilizing my time effectively. I carry out my duties with all Honesty and bearing in mind that I am accountable for everything I do. I can also take independent decisions in line with my organisational guideline that will be of great benefit to my patients and the organization in critical situations. My experience has enabled me to demonstrate and maintain effective nursing practice in many areas including, patient assessment, nursing diagnosis, planning /patient individual care plan, implementation,evaluation, medicines management, (including IV drugs), wound management, bladder scanning, rapid tranquilization, ECT, catheterization, suturing, intubation, tracheotomy, cannulation and venipuncture, pain management, oxygen administration, cardiac catheterization, ECG, suctioning, cardiopulmonary resuscitation, interpretation of cardiac monitors.
The skills and qualities I have acquired from the various nursing departments include; excellent verbal and written communication, good interpersonal relationships. I am patient-focused, respectful, caring, compassionate, enthusiastic and a great team player who always put patients first and at the center of everything I do, aims to get it right, involve everybody while remaining open and honest in my care, and showcasing excellence and integrity in the delivery of nursing services to patients and relatives, and always prioritize my patients safety. Also I have good IT skills as I am proficient in excel, Microsoft word, and power points, I am also proficient in electronic data storage as I always record all care I give to my patients electronically. I have the ability to work under pressure with out compromising patients safety and quality of care, and work effectively in any team I find myself and ready to face the future. I manage my time effectively while providing quality care. I am adaptable and can work effectively without supervision. I can manage and resolve conflicts easily. Conflict is inevitable but I know it can be managed. I have received positive comments from students, patients and their relatives, while my colleagues described me as an excellent communicator, team worker and as one who delivers outstanding patients care. I am very resourceful and can go extra miles for my patients.
I am constantly identifying learning needs and undergoing training as appropriate to meet with the needs in delivering high quality patient care to achieve advanced recovery goals and overall health in various nursing units including accident and emergency, home care, community health, geriatrics, discharge lounge, out-patient department, among others. For example, I have completed training on Basic Life Support, Advanced Cardiac Life Support, Pediatric Life Support, CPR, AED and First Aid Certification, and also Patient Care and Hygiene. Also, I identified a training need on documentation and I took relevant training at my place of work, watched educational videos on documentation which greatly improved my documentation skills. I am willing to undertake any training involved so as to function effectively in this role, I can fit into any department with little placement training.
I comprehend that if I am successful with this job, I will deliver high quality care to patients, in a professional, compassionate and competent manner and also practice within the scope of the NMC Code of Professional Conduct. I will contribute ideas and support clinical initiatives in order to provide evidence based patient care. Assess basic care needs of the patients, implement care without direct supervision, and act in such a manner that justifies public trust and confidence to safeguard the interest of individual patients.
